Who Is Renata Vaughn ?

It all started when…

I convinced my 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Roberts to give me the half-copied pages of what was supposed to be our reading comprehension lesson. That evening after homework, I wrote my first story. The next morning when I handed in my homework, I showed Mrs. Roberts what I created.

I watched the faces of my peers as she read my story. It was the only time that I recall our classroom being as quiet and attentive. I watched their faces light up with enthusiasm and excitement. It was at that moment that I fell in love with writing. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.

Mrs. Roberts encouraged me to continue writing. She later entered my story into a school-wide writing contest. I continued entering and placing in those contests until we left New Jersey. I continued writing throughout high school up until I enrolled in college.

“My goal as a writer is to provoke thought and emotions with riveting stories and authentic characters within drama, rom-com, and sci-fi/fantasy genres..”

As a professionally trained literary artist, I paint pictures with words. With one stroke of my pen, I can create worlds, write things and people into existence, and with another stroke make it all disappear. I create stories and characters that Hollywood has overlooked. I'm an advocate for true diversity and inclusion.

“You got a dream. You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it.” - Chris Gardner (Will Smith) from The Pursuit of Happyness

Professionalism is my brand, and as a professional, I’ll focus on script marketability, brand management, concise storytelling, and writer-producer collaboration. Let’s work together to bring our stories to life.
